Version update

You may already be familiar with the zone system effects in the single-player Journey mode in Tetris®: Connection: As you play, a meter on one side of the Matrix fills up. You can enter the zone at any time (using the left trigger button), stop time and the Tetriminos’ fall, and escape/save yourself from game over! Additionally, clearing lines in an area earns you additional bonuses that are added to your score.

Two players can go one-on-one using zones in multiplayer zone battles. This is a great way to practice the skills you developed in Journey Mode. Here are some tips to get you started!

Uh, what is a regional war?

Zone Battle is a one-on-one multiplayer battle mode featuring the Zone system. Clear the lines and build the area gauge so you can use it when appropriate. When you activate a zone with the left trigger, lines are cleared until the meter runs out and stacks at the bottom of the matrix, allowing you to rack up high scores with amazing combos.

Compete with players around the world, even cross-platform online in ranked or friend matches, or compete with local friends.

How can I make sure my attack is strong in the zone?

While you’re in the zone, not only does time stop and Tetriminos stop falling, but it also prevents your opponent from launching attacks of their own. As you clear lines and counterattack, bonuses are added based on how full the meter was before you activated it and the total number of lines cleared in the zone.
